Hello Singer of Wellness!

Welcome to the 7th Listener's Choice Week!

(+ Bonus 2024 East Coast A-Retreat-A-Month section below)

One of the A Breath of Song subscribers (could be you?!) shares three episodes they particularly loved, and tells us why... plus an extra nugget about themselves. It gives us all more of a sense of each other in this A Breath of Song community -- and we relish a dip into the back catalog... and don't miss TWO song retreats with info below!

These come every five weeks or so -- your picks help ease my life a bit, and give all of us a chance to explore the library. 133 songs: that's a lot of music to tap into to help navigate our complex lives! A Breath of Song is not just a podcast, but a living library resource.

We'd love to hear your picks! Click the button to share your choices. You'll be asked why these, a nugget about you, & if you'd like, a picture would be amazing. We're so grateful for your engagement!

I'm Coming Home

by Marv Zauderer

Aliza says, "I loved that piano backdrop that you provided so we could sing on top of the track. I was so inspired that I wanted a whole album of community song tracks with just instruments that I can sing at home to."

Episode #92

Creature Teacher

by Hannah Jeffery

Aliza says, "Love the lyrics and the song to encourage the singer to listen to their needs and check in. I find the lyrics a little funny too with the references to these needs being creatures. Makes me giggle! Very creative."

Episode #83

Brave This World

by Tembre de Carteret

Aliza says, "I love finding new songs. I enjoyed episode 15, Brave This World for simplicity and the endless possibilities of harmonies."

Episode #15

These are the choices of...
Aliza, who says, "I collect songs too! My library is over 1700 songs with lyrics and recordings that I started in 2018 through iCloud notes." Wow, right??!!!! What a library!

Thank you, Aliza, for pulling these out of Year One, Two & Three... great picks to continue the listener's choice journey! I can't wait to see who's next and what they choose?!?! Might that be you? I only have one set of picks in the line-up right now...

Thank you to you for listening & singing, thank you for your comments & energy -- together, we tend this web of singers-listeners. Next week will be another new episode -- 134: "Calling Us In" by Meg O'Dell Chittenden, who is a music teacher, song leader, vocal mentor, and somatic coach, supporting individuals and couples in growth, transformation, and healing. She hosts an annual adult and family singing retreat on the coast of Maine called SongWeavers, which is currently open for registration! In Episode 135, we'll hear from Meg and her kids in a songwriter conversation.

wishing you so very well --

SINGING IN THE STREAM

July 21 - 26th

Chants, Spirituals, Songs of Joy and Healing and

Contemporary Songs for the Times

WITH MAGGIE WHEELER AND ARNAÉ BATSON

 FAMILY WEEK at Omega Institute
(registration opens in March)

Join us for an experience of the deep, healing power of the voice. Together, with our facilitators, Maggie Wheeler and Arnaé Batson (with percussionist Meredith Scott Lynn) we will embark on a vocal journey to investigate the vibrational power of song, including songs that have been sung through the ages–during times of struggle, resistance and triumph.

From chants and spirituals, songs of joy and healing to protest and original music, we will sing open the doors to a deeper level of listening to one another and to the unseen. Throughout the week we learn songs by call-and-response, a technique accessible to beginners and experienced singers alike. Magic happens when we are bathed in the vibrations of beautiful songs and combined voices. Singing this way relieves tension and creates a sense of well-being that resonates in our bodies and lasts far beyond the moment.

You can find Maggie on A Breath of Song episodes #4, 5, 109 & 110.

August 2024, Maine

Meg O'Dell (Chittenden) will be featured in the next two episodes of A Breath of Song... and her retreat registration has just opened! Click the pic to go to the SongWeavers website...
